Darwin is about to make history as it welcomes the FIM Motocross World Championship back to Australia for the first time in 24 years!
Taking place in Darwin from September 2025 until 2029, with the possibility of extending the collaboration beyond the initial five-year term, this is no ordinary motorsport event. It’s the pinnacle of motocross racing, where the world’s top riders push their limits in one of the most physically demanding disciplines in motorsport.
The new round will be held on a purpose-built track at the Hidden Valley Motorsports Complex in Darwin and will be broadcast to over 100 countries.
What's happening in Darwin ?
Set for September 2024, this event will feature the MXGP and MX2 championship rounds, bringing elite riders from around the globe to the Northern Territory’s capital.
What makes this event even more exciting is its exclusivity. Darwin will be the only Australian stop on the global tour. For Aussie motorsport fans, this is a rare opportunity to witness motocross at its absolute peak, right here at home. The full 2025 MXGP world championship calendar will be announced later this year, including the exact date when the world’s best motocross riders will be tearing it up in Darwin.
