Prepare your day bag for an unforgettable Litchfield adventure with Ethical Adventures. Your journey begins with a hotel pick-up no later than 7:00 am, heading first to Berry Springs Nature Reserve. This reserve offers diverse habitats and attractions, including clear geothermal waters that surface and flow over a small waterfall, perfect for a relaxing natural water massage.
Next, you'll visit Litchfield, renowned for its stunning waterfalls such as Florence Falls, Wangi Falls, and Tolmer Falls. The park is also home to unique wetlands, rugged stone country, ravines, gorges, and fascinating termite mounds created by both cathedral and magnetic termites.
On your way back to Darwin, you'll pass through Batchelor, a town rich with personal stories and historical significance. You'll learn about the impact of WWII, uranium mining, farming research, indigenous education, and the lives of pioneering and First Nation people. You'll return to Darwin between 4 and 6 pm.
The day is yours to relax and explore. Depending on your chosen adventure, you might head to the waterfront for your 00Seven jetski tour and enjoy the many attractions in the area, such as the wave pool, the Darwin Flying Doctor Services museum, numerous restaurants. Or, simply relax on the grass by the lagoon.
If you opted for the gourmet buffet with Darwin Harbour Cruises, this will start in the late afternoon, giving you ample time to enjoy the waterfront and Stokes Wharf during the day.
Prepare for another early morning as the Croc Bus picks you up or meets you at a central location by 7:30 am. Your adventure includes a comfortable ride in their 24-seater bus equipped with air conditioning, opening windows, and plenty of cold water (remember to bring a refillable bottle). Enjoy learning from an experienced and knowledgeable driver, or relax and read fascinating articles about crocodiles in the Adelaide River from the NT News.
The second stop is the highlight of the day: an up-close encounter with crocodiles on a small (but safe) boat as you cruise the Adelaide River. On the way back to Darwin, we'll visit Fogg Dam, a stunning wetland teeming with wildlife, including birds, insects, fish, buffalo, wallabies, and some of the world's largest reptiles.
You'll return to Darwin around lunchtime. Spend the afternoon relaxing by your hotel pool or at one of the many pubs in the city. This evening, stop by Charlie’s of Darwin where your package includes a small Territory tasting platter and gin flight created by Darwin Distilling Co.
Your time exploring the Top End has come to an end, as you check out and head home.
Or, if you don't want the fun to end yet, you can add an additional 4 days to your trip and do a self drive adventure in Kakadu and Katherine. Let us know if this is something you're interested in.
