Make sure you pre book your shows for the Darwin Festival so you can maximise your time here. This suggested itinerary gives you some suggestions but will be dependent on the shows you book in. As part of your package, you get one Friends of the Festival memberships. Arrive in Darwin and spend the afternoon exploring the CBD. Stock up on snacks, drinks, and water at Coles or Woolworths to prepare for your exciting adventure in the Top End, or enjoy a coffee or lunch at one of our favorite CBD eateries, such as Rays Patisserie, Moorish, or Rabbit Hole.
After 4:00 PM, head to the Mindil Beach Markets to browse a variety of stalls offering unique Territorian products. Make sure to catch the breathtaking sunset on the beach. At the market, indulge in diverse food options, from laksa and croc burgers to vegan desserts. The market is also open on Sundays at 4:00 PM.
In the evening, you could also visit Charlie’s and use your voucher to sample some locally distilled gin - a fantastic way to kick off your trip.
After an early breakfast, get ready for your morning with the crocs. The Croc Bus will pick you up (from specific locations) at 7:30 and you'll enjoy visiting Humpty Doo, Fogg Dam and our iconic Jumping Crocodile Cruise.
In the afternoon, relax at the pool or wander the CBD and check out a number of our local pubs. Book in a show at the festival in the evening and grab a bite at the one of the many delicious food stalls in Festival Park.
The day is yours to explore! Start with a visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, followed by a delicious meal at Stoke’s Wharf. Explore the WWII tunnels or embark on a Gourmet Food Tour. Depending on the show schedule, you might also book a Darwin Harbour Cruise with dinner. You could still have time to catch a late show at the festival.
Sundays are always great for the festival with some earlier shows available. Between shows you can enjoy the gorgeous dry season weather with a Neuron scooter ride around town.
